MEET CHEF DEJOIRE SHANTEL

Chef Dejoire Shantel, known to many as Chef Joi, is a culinary artist, host, entrepreneur, and lover of all things that bring people together.

With a culinary education from the Art Institute of Atlanta and more than 15 years of experience in the kitchen, Joi has built her work around one simple belief: food is connection.

Now living in Mérida, Mexico, she brings a little bit of Southern warmth, global flavor, and a whole lot of personality to everything she creates. Through her family-style chef service, supper clubs, private dining experiences, and culinary events, Joi creates food that feels abundant, comforting, playful, and made with intention.

Her approach to hospitality goes far beyond what's on the plate. She believes the best meals are the ones that make you linger at the table, tell stories with people you love, laugh a little louder, and feel taken care of.

At the bed and breakfast, Joi brings that same philosophy to the guest experience, creating memorable meals and moments that feel less like staying somewhere and more like being welcomed into someone's world.
